Terminate unwanted processes in Windows XP - Task Killer

Task Killer 2.30 freeIt was the time when my system was starting very slow and after starting it was giving lots of problems I could not understand what are the processes running in background which were making my system so slow.

I used to run msconfig and check out what were those and try to remove them from startup, but again after restart they were loading and I use to check them by using the cntrl alt del keys and got surprised to see lot of unwanted things running in background.

So I was searching for something by which I can kill those unwanted processes instantly and found one, that is Task Killer a very small program which runs in startup after installation and we can kill those unwanted processes in the background instantly.

Task Killer used to be shareware, and had a ridiculous price tag of something like $20 USD. Fortunately, the author offered it as freeware before falling off the map forever.

Sure, we can use Task Manager or Process Explorer to terminate processes, but people who say that makes Task Killer useless miss the point. Task Killer provides an easy, windowless way to see what processes are running, and lets you terminate them with only a couple mouse clicks. Task Killer also lets you terminate processes by window title something that isn't nearly as convenient in a windows process manager. Task Killer is quicker and easier, and that's the point.

The fact that Task Killer can colorize system processes and high-CPU processes is also a nice touch.

"This is the Settings window of Task Killer where you can set it to launch at startup and to show description tool tips."

"Task Killer offers the possibility of requesting confirmation when you choose to end an application, so there will be no accidental terminated processes."

I found this self loading program in Windows startup is very fast and neat way to end hanged applications, processes or services.

This program allows you to quickly and safely terminate "frozen" applications with the "Smart Kill" technology.

All we have to do is to click on Task Killer icon at system tray and select some program from the list. It will terminate immediately!

Lets check out some key features of "Task Killer":
